“The pursuit of discovery is guided by sensing the presence of a hidden reality toward which our clues are pointing”. ..Michael Polanyi

I am interested in the idea of Whole System. The understanding that each object is not merely itself but involves every other object and is everything else. Repeatedly capturing a single viewpoint onto a system as it appears over time, reveals an expression of the whole in a pattern and composition of its own design. The resulting whole image or subject in greater context is not represented by different views or aspects onto the subject, but by the same viewpoint and the changes that occur within that viewpoint over time.

The idea of consciousness and the experience of landscape produces works which inhabit the arbitrary divisions between what is imagined and reality. Being is what we imagine. Our experience of life is a lens through which a world is revealed. The mind gathers what passes through this lens. Eventually the representation of a landscape in consciousness becomes neither subjective or objective, but omnijective -- a representation formed by a number of viewpoints and combinations.

I like the idea expressed in the Upanishads of when we go to sleep we take with us the things of the day, and through dreaming tear them up and recombine them to create landscapes by our own light.

Every memory stored in our minds is infinitely cross-referenced with every other memory. I like to think of consciousness as an act of collage.
